'Watch What Happens Live' Andy Cohen's Mexican Food Date with Susan Lucci

'Watch What Happens Live' Andy Cohen's Mexican Food Date with Susan Lucci

Cohen hates beans, but loves Susan Lucci — and Entenmann's Pop'Ems doughnuts

Andy Cohen recently shared his fist celebrity encounter at a Mexican restaurant with Susan Lucci.

As if picturing a young Andy Cohen's first celebrity encounter isn't adorable enough, wait until you read about where it took place: a Mexican food restaurant!

Cohen, who released his first memoir this week, Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture, shared an excerpt from the book and tells how he first met Susan Lucci, his idol at the time. For a homework assignment at Boston University, Cohen scored an interview with Lucci and her publicist; the kicker? It was at a Mexican restaurant, Lucci's choice. He writes, "In fact, I hate Mexican food. I have a lifelong aversion to beans, and I wanted to see the studio. On the other hand: Susan Lucci and I are going to lunch? On a date? Me gusta!"

Click here to read the rest of the excerpt — including his anecdote about eating Pop'Ems doughnut holes while watching All My Children as a kid.
