Sprinkle the dough sheet with sugar, then roll to the center on both sides, thus obtaining two equal rolls joined, as in the picture.
Cut thick slices of about 0.5 cm that are "rolled" in sugar and place in the pan and put in the oven (already hot) at 200 degrees C, until golden brown.
Palm trees are very easy to prepare and are a great appetizer.
Allow the puff pastry to thaw at room temperature. Put the dehydrated tomatoes in a blender until they turn into a paste, then add the ones from a sprig of rosemary.
Grate the cheese and mix it with the tomato paste, between your hands, as if you were preparing a tart dough or biscuits.
Spread the filling over the entire surface of the puff pastry, then start rolling, on both ends, lengthwise. Grease with beaten egg, mixed with 1 tablespoon of milk, to tie the two ends.
Cut 2cm slices and place them on the tray lined with baking paper and then put them in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes.
If in pies or salads, the puff pastry must swell quite a lot, here it is exactly the opposite.
Serve the palm trees with dehydrated tomatoes and cheese on a plate as an appetizer or snack. They are perfect and packable.
