6 Fashion (Model) (Designer) Restaurants to Try During NY Fashion Week (Slideshow)

A guide to eating in and around the action

Cherry

A joint venture by restaurateurs Jonathan Morr (of BONDST, Republic) and Eugene Morimoto, Cherry offers fashion week enthusiasts French-inspired Japanese fare. This speakeasy-esque space, designed by Studio Gaia, puts you in the underbelly of the fashion world, as many runway regulars like to frequent this space. They are also offering a select three-course prix fixe menu, fittingly entitled "Feast or Fashion," to help patrons navigate the menu of fusion dishes and enticing sake pairings.

Bites

· Foie gras short rib gyoza, with plum sake glaze and sour cherries

· Sweet shrimp tartare, with wasabi soy and American caviar

Drinks

· Cherry Bomb, with Corralejo tequila, cherry jam, and black pepper agave

· Fuzzy Dog, with Bulldog gin, fennel, peach preserves, lemon, and absinthe mist

Center Bar

The Center Bar is a restaurant, wine bar, and cocktail lounge (aka a fashion industry worker’s heaven) from Michael Lomonaco that specializes in small plates. Located on the fourth floor of the Time Warner Center, the modern lounge was designed by Jeffrey Beers International and has perfect views of the city to satisfy even a native New Yorker. For Fashion Week enthusiasts, this sleek spot is right near the center of the action, so it makes for the perfect place to take a break and possibly sneak a peek at an icon.

Bites

· Piquillo peppers stuffed with drunken goat cheese, and topped with Marcona almonds

· Roasted Mayan prawns served with a salsita of fresh coriander, garlic, yellow tomato, and red pepper

Drinks

· Mimosa Mandarin, a combination of Moët Champagne, mandarin, and orange juice

Delicatessen

Delicatessen, another celebrity favorite, gives those who are overwhelmed by the edgy fashion world a great place to rest their weary heads. This modern, comfortable spot offers diners an array of "international comfort foods."

Bites

· Scallop Sliders, with pan-roasted diver sea scallops, house-made pretzel bun, and grain mustard butter sauce

· Sizzling Halloumi and Grilled Asparagus, with baby leek and Dijon mustard vinaigrette

Drinks

· Prince Street Cider, with spiced rum and ginger liqueur shaken with apple cider, crushed lemon, and cinnamon

LAVO NY

Nothing compares to Italian flare in both the food and fashion worlds. LAVO, located in the heart of midtown Manhattan, is a cozy bar and café but still offers the cutting-edge Fashion Week experience. The space is adorned with antique mirrors, reclaimed subway tiles, and repurposed bricks, and the menu offerings look just as deliciously rustic.

Bites

· Tuna Tartare, with diced yellowfin tuna, avocado, crispy garlic, and black olive dressing

· Roasted Beets, with goat cheese, citrus, toasted almonds, and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette

Drinks

· Lavolini, with prosecco, passion fruit, and St. Germain

· Peche, with Bacardi Limón, peach purée, and fresh lemon

TAO Asian Bistro

TAO Asian Bistro, which features a blend of food (and artifacts) from China, Japan, and Thailand, is a pulse of activity when fashion week rolls around. If a 16-foot Buddha sitting atop a tranquil koi pond doesn’t scream chic, we don’t know what does! This spot is a perfect place to perch and people-watch when the high-profile event begins.

Bites

· Satay of Chilean Sea Bass, with wok-roasted asparagus

· Thai crabcakes with mango chile sauce

Drinks

· Pama Sutra, with Don Julio Silver, pomegranate liqueur, and calamansi lime

Featuring Ferrari leather banquettes and Carrara marble tabletops, Marble Lane is the luxurious, delicious spot that comes to mind when you think "quintessential New York." While this is a great place to check out for late-night eats, you can also start your day off with their tailored morning breakfast menu. Who knows, you may even run into the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio or LeBron James, who are said to frequent this chic space.

Bites

· Tacos, from Amish Chicken with habanero pickled onions and plantain pico to seared tuna with guacamole and chipotle aioli

· Vuelve la Vida Cocktail, with shrimp, crab, calamari, and avocado
