Mix the butter with the sugar, just enough to get a frothy consistency. Then add the grated peel and orange juice, ginger and cinnamon. Homogenize and put the baking powder extinguished with a tablespoon of milk and gradually incorporate the flour, previously sifted. Knead the dough until it becomes non-sticky, wrap it with cling film and keep it cold for about an hour. Then let it reach room temperature, spread it with a rolling pin, in a not very thick sheet and cut the desired shapes. Place them in a pan greased with oil (and baking paper) and bake them until the edges are lightly browned.
After they have cooled completely, grease them with sugar paste and sprinkle the desired ornaments.
